Key positions
Collected from public online sources · not independently verified- —Affordability: cut development permit times from 20–30+ weeks toward the city's own 12-week target, push the city's below-market housing tools, and back food security programs already working — Loaves and Fishes, Food4Schools, Nanaimo Foodshare and farmers' markets.Source
- —Wellness and culture: advocate for fair provincial resourcing for the hospital, back proven addiction, mental-health and supportive-housing programs (Road to Recovery, Complex Care Housing), and champion a wellness coordinating table with the goal of making Nanaimo the healthiest city in Canada.Source
- —Accountability: publish real turnaround targets for major city processes, bring transparent budgeting to City Hall, and build real public input channels — including youth voice — with stated response timelines.Source
- —Reconciliation: be a responsive municipal partner as Snuneymuxw First Nation develops the Te'tuxwtun lands, using the City's Protocol Agreement as a living framework and following through locally on relevant Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action.Source
